There’s little better than a bowl of comforting, sweet, warm apple crumble smothered with custard and a dollop of ice-cream. Heaven in a bowl on a cold winter’s night. This scrumptious but basic recipe is perfectly satisfying as-is but it can easily be customised to ones desires by substituting half of the flour with an equal weight of rolled oats, nuts or seeds for a crunchier crumble. You can also substitute a portion of the apples for equal weights of stewed rhubarb, raspberries or blueberries. The options are limitless!
